4 Aromatic Products I'm Loving Lately
A few months ago, in the very beginning of quarantine, I listened to an Instagram Live with the wonderful Alexander Elle (@alex_elle) She was helping us flesh out how we defined what self-care meant to us during these difficult times. We listed what self care was from a sensory perspective; “What does self-care taste like, feel like, etc. your answers could change weekly, or daily. I thought it was a great exercise in being present and being grateful for the little things that brought us some happiness. I started to lean into what scents made me feel good. Here’s a roundup of some products that are bringing me joy right now.
The Oilbar’s Scented Body Oil and Shea Butter
I discovered this line of customizable body products during my trip to Essence Wellness Fest back in March. You’re able to pick from a wide array of fragrances and have them add the scent to high quality luxurious body products like moisturizing coconut oil sprays, shea-butters and salt scrubs. I choose “Beyoncé’s Heat Rush” & “Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle.” Pure bliss after a warm shower.
2. Le Labo’s Fragranced Body Lotion and Shower Gel in “Ylang 49”
I already mentioned this scent as a favorite in more than one blog post. This time I’m focusing on the body products in particular. The shower gel and lotion has the perfect amount of fragrance combined with moisturizing elements to give it a luxurious feel. You could definitely layer the scents with the fragrance oil or spray for a more concentrated experience. I found using just the two bath products smells amazing and gives me enough pampering to make me feel wonderfully accessorized, even in my work at home sweats.
3. Trader Joe’s Watermelon Face Mist
I love a great Trader Joe’s find. This hydrating Watermelon Face Mist is deliciously fragrant. What a boost on a hot day. It’s great after a workout, cleansing your face or just a pick me up. It smells divine. If you didn’t know about watermelon’s long list of benefits, it’s hydrating and full of antioxidants that’s amazing for your skin.
4. Scented Candles by Harlem Candle Company
Of course you can get your aromatherapy fix through candles. Harlem Candle Company has luxury soy candles that are gorgeous to look at, but also leaves a beautiful concentrated scent. This “Langston” candle includes leather, nutmeg, jasmine, vanilla and more. I’m starting to enjoy more masculine candle scents. This one is top notch.
